You can now unlock all ebikes by scanning a QR code in the BIKETOWNpdx or Lyft app. Please see full details below so you can start riding.

From the Lyft or BIKETOWNpdx app:

• Tap the “bikes” icon on the home screen of the Lyft or BIKETOWNpdx app
• Find a nearby bike
• Tap "unlock a bike" and scan the QR code on the rear fender
• Enjoy your ride!

If you're having trouble scanning the QR code, you can tap on the keyboard icon in the bottom left corner of the screen to manually enter the number. When the light on the bike turns green, this means the bike is unlocked. Remove and secure the cable lock into the holder to begin your ride.

BIKETOWN also has scooters! To unlock a scooter, just tap the “Unlock” button in your app, or tap the “Scan” button in the app and point your phone’s camera at the QR code on the scooter’s handlebars.

The pin will release from the lock after the scooter is unlocked. Make sure you do not place the pin back into the lock holder until you’re ready to end your ride.

You can use your Hop Fastpass to unlock scooters! Just tap "Add Hop Fastpass" in your app and enter the 8-digit number located on the back of the card below the black stripe. 

To unlock a scooter with your Hop Fastpass, you will hold the card near the top of the scooter handlebars. Keep in mind that your Hop Fastpass only unlocks the scooter and does not pay for your ride. You’ll still be charged to the payment method on file in your app.
